In the Fine Arts, Northland offers two primary performing groups and various courses in the visual arts.
2009-2010 Northwinds In the Visual Arts, five classes are offered: Basic Art, Painting, Drawing, 3-D Art and Art History. In addition to training the students in various ways to present a subject visually, art movements thoughout history will be taught, as well as the role of art in the church, how the visual arts can assist to communicate the message of Christ. All students are eligible to select Band, Choir and the various Art classes as part of their elective choices.
Students interested in the Dramatic Arts are welcome to audition for an annual play performance, usually held in Spring. The play allows students to develop their abilities to share a story and its emotional impact. A small number of students can also work with their interests in technical roles such as: backstage crew, lighting, etc. The play is an extra-curricular activity. |
